  • Proof of Concept

    A proof of concept (POC) is the best way to clarify the business and design goals of an AI solution. Everything in this space is new, so iterating between ideas and execution to build a rapid prototype is the best way to reduce risk and set the stage for operating in a new way. POCs can take 3 - 8 weeks, and fees typically range between $7,500 and $20,000. See details below.

  • Solution Development

    When we are clear what needs to be built and how to build it, we help supervise your team, an outside developer, or our own offshore development team to implement the solution. Solution development typically takes 2 to 6 months and management fees for solution development are $7,500 per month. The cost of developers is additional.

Feasibility Study

The feasibility study applies our experience to your requirements. We bring years of expertise in artificial intelligence, data analysis, and software solutions, and conduct detailed research on the state of the art (which is rapidly evolving). We document everything we uncover:

Business goals and metrics - we will establish a clear baseline of the current state and a vision for the future state from a business perspective, and the how we will evaluate success. We document the business case for potential investments.

Data sources and structures - AI relies heavily on data sources both internal and external. We identify what data is required to enable the desired solution.

Buy and build - we will identify the needed tools and functions to support the business. What is the “latest” AI that we can use; is it suitable for your business? What can we get with off-the-shelf solutions like ChatGPT, and what needs to be built or customized? How much work will it take to build?

Risk assessment - we need to anticipate “rainy day” scenarios, unexpected user inputs, etc. We will examine the risks (legal, organizational, technical, brand), and recommend how to mitigate these risks.

POC / AI Prototype

AI covers a range of use cases and supporting technologies. We will identify which use cases are critical for your project and demonstrate that it can work and how it would interact with users.

Conversational interface - does the user need to interact with a chat bot?

  • Across which channels (web, sms text, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc).

  • What range of free-form inputs must be answered?

  • Does a domain specific terminology need to be supported (e.g. medical terms)?

We build a bot using your content and dictionary so stakeholders can visualize the potential value for users.

Semantic search - today’s generative AI understands meanings and user intents without having to pre-define intents or spending countless hours coding and debugging dialog scripts. Unanticipated, free-form inputs from users are handled smoothly. We build a “vector index” to search by meaning and to guard against “off topic” queries or requests.

Database integration - often an AI solution front ends a back end system of record such as an ERP system or CRM system. We will test the required API’s.

Machine learning and business rules - does your solution require teaching the AI what your team knows in order to be valuable to your customers? If the AI is either assisting or possibly replacing task workers, then we will build a custom machine learning model using proven statistical techniques like clustering or decision trees.
